Get Started

Getting started

Add Vektra to your Discord server and set it up in a few minutes

This guide walks server admins through adding Vektra and getting it ready to receive demos.

Before you start

You need to be an admin, or have Manage Server permissions, in the Discord server where you want to install Vektra.

Vektra also needs permission to send messages, create threads, and send DMs to users who interact with it.

Invite Vektra

Setup steps

1

Invite the bot

Invite Vektra to your Discord server using the invite link. When prompted, accept the default permissions so the bot can read channels, send messages, and create threads.

2

Initialize storage with your label name

In your server, run:

/start label_name:Label Name

Replace Label Name with your label or collective's name. This creates managed storage for your server and sets your label name, which Vektra uses across messages and embeds.

3

Pick a staff channel

Choose where staff-only submission cards should appear:

/setup_staff channel:#staff-demos

Pick a private channel that only your reviewers can see. This is where incoming demo cards with Approve, Reject, and DM buttons will appear.

4

Pick a ticket staff channel if you use tickets

Pro and Pro+ servers can run private support tickets. Tickets need their own staff channel:

/ticket_channel channel:#staff-tickets

This channel must be different from your demo submission staff channel.

5

Verify setup

Run:

/setup

Vektra confirms your storage, premium status, branding, staff channel, ticket channel, and thread permissions.

You can also use:

  • /db_status to check storage connection
  • /staff_status to check staff channel connection
6

Tell artists how to submit

Artists run /submit anywhere in your server to open the demo submission form. Pin a message or post in your submissions channel so artists know what to do.

Dashboard setup

Pro and Pro+ servers can manage Vektra from the web dashboard.

  1. Log in with Discord.
  2. Choose a server from the custom server picker.
  3. Confirm Vektra is installed and that you have Admin or Manage Server permission.
  4. Edit branding, templates, ticket settings, storage, and panel posting from the dashboard.

When posting panels from the dashboard, the channel list comes from channels visible to the bot. If a panel fails to post, check that Vektra can view the channel and send messages there.

  • A public channel where artists can learn how to submit.
  • A private staff channel for demo cards.
  • A private staff ticket channel if you use Pro support tickets.
  • Optional approved and rejected routing channels for Starter, Pro, or Pro+ servers.
